Our Annual Garden Party was again held this year at the home of Peter and Sylvia K, and our thanks must go to them for organising such an enjoyable afternoon. Not only was the setting beautiful, they arranged for pie, mash and liquor and sausage and mash to be served, and everyone seemed to tuck in with relish. They also served some fruit punch which was very welcome and tasty.
Thanks also too the members who supplied something for the dessert table, much of which was home-made. We were spoilt for choice.
As an acknowledgment of the queen's 90th birthday year most people managed to wear something red, white and/or blue and we played the traditional game of pin the tail on the corgi, which was won by Terry. Along with other games, and quizzes (do you know where the queen was born?) a free raffle and general chat and laughter everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Most remarkable was the fact that the rain held off, considering the foul weather we've had this summer.
They promised us some bubbly - this is what we got!!
