We had a really good laugh together when we held our annual club singles competition last Sunday. Peter K organised it so that we had two groups, and everyone played everyone else in their group on the three normal mats. Finally, the two winners of the groups played each other on a mat laid diagonally across the hall to make it more interesting. Paul and Cathy played a great final match with Cathy leading in the penultimate end. Paul managed to snatch victory on the last end.
Paul received the best man prize and overall winner, Cathy won best lady with Ken and Rita winning runner up man and lady prizes respectively. Two wooden spoons were also handed out to the lowest scoring lady and man, but of course its not the winning that matters its the amount of laughter you had.
We adjourned to have a late Sunday lunch at the Orange Tree pub, where the laughter continued.
Our next competition will be the Pairs on Sunday 10th July.
